About Beaches-East York

Beaches-East York

The electoral district of Beaches-East York merges large parts of two distinct and popular communities: part of East York, which was Canada's only borough until being amalgamated into the City of Toronto and The Beach, a popular tourist destination and home to tight-knit neighbourhoods.
Beaches-East York runs from Sunrise Avenue to the north and the lakeshore to the south, and Coxwell Avenue to the west and Victoria Park Avenue to the east. More than 100,000 residents live within the borders of this electoral district and it is one of the densest regions in the province of Ontario. This culturally and economically diverse region is home to numerous community events, including the famous Beaches International Jazz Festival, the historic East York Canada Parade and bustling Crescent Town fairs.
